Keith’s List of Pre Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms
Keith’s List of Pre Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms
I understand that some of you are not regular readers and are probably asking the question – why in the world is Keith going on and on about Pre Type 2 Diabetes symptoms? Good question. I hope I have a good answer.
Why give you a list of symptoms?
Several years ago when I had a bunch of health problems, the doctors looked at each health problem separately. It was like they had a list:
Health Problem Drug Surgery Advice
High blood pressure yes
High cholesterol Statin
Acid Reflux yes
Overweight no no eat less, exercise more
Anxiety / Stress yes
Chronic Bronchitis steroid
Sleep Apnea no no breathing mask
Arthritis yes
And they prescribed a drug or medical device for each of these individual problems. And I was to take these drugs and do these things for the rest of my life.
Not one word about what was causing all of these problems. Not one word about curing anything.
I figured that all the problems were related and started searching. Some how I figured out sugar might be the problem – which lead me into Metabolic Syndrome and Syndrome X. So I bought a book on each. I opened one of the books to a list of symptoms – and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
THAT IS ME THEY ARE DESCRIBING! THIS IS IT! THIS IS MY PROBLEM! I HAVE FIGURED OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!
In six months I had dropped 60 pounds, was off all prescription drugs, and instead of feeling like I was 60 years old – I felt like I was 20 years old (I was about 40 years old).
Instead of sleeping for 10 hours and then having to move to the couch because I was so tired – I slept 6 to 7 hours and jumped out of bed to go do all the things I wanted to do.
Instead of looking for life insurance – I was enjoying life.
And it’s not just me. It is millions of other people that have done the same thing. Most of these people don’t have a blog or a website – but some do.

My Goal with this List
My goal with this discussion is to help millions of other people realize that they are in PRE type 2 diabetes / Syndrome X / Metabolic Syndrome – so that they can do something NOW. PRE type 2 diabetes is a warning light on your dashboard of life saying – you had better do something now – because you may not get another warning. You next indicator might be a heart attack, stroke, cancer, clogged artery, major bowel problems, major surgery, etc.
I have presented several other lists of symptoms. Hopefully you see some reoccurring themes? Hopefully you have connected the dots?
I hope that no one goes into a hospital or doctor’s office, with several of these problems and the topic of a low carb diet, supplements, and moderate exercise are not mentioned.
The doctor should write down KeithConnectsTheDots.Com on a prescription.
As I have presented – there are numerous sources about pre type 2 diabetes / syndrome x / metabolic syndrome going back to the 1970s. IMHO – there is absolutely NO excuse for a doctor to not recognize these symptoms today and put you on a low carb diet.
But you have to look out for #1 (that means you, yourself, and – uh - you).
My goal is – if you look through these lists of symptoms – and notice that you have several of these symptoms, or even worse a doctor has told you have these problems and maybe prescribed drugs for them – you need to do what I did and stop this down hill slide into Type 2 Diabetes. It is a horrible disease and what happens to type 2 diabetics is not pretty.
Keith’s List of Pre Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms
I agree with the Official list – but it does not include a lot of things.
Type 2 diabetes and inflammation affect every cell of your body. Therefore they affect you from head to toe. They make muscle decline, fat increase, bone density decrease, organs decline, - remember we are talking every cell.
I have tried to list these symptoms from mild case to advanced problem.
Mood: irritability (grumpy old men, bitchy women, behavioral problems in kids), stress, anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies. I’ve sometimes looked into the eyes of someone and seen a lot of stress. Within months they have died.
Dementia: can not focus and concentrate like you use to, may feel like a fog in your brain, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) in kids. Can not recall or remember things as you once did. Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and clinically diagnosed dementia are advanced stages.
Energy Level: feeling tired or sleepy a couple of hours after a large meal. Some people sleep 8 to 10 hours and then move to couch. They always feel tired – they have chronic fatigue syndrome. Kids that won't play and exercise - sit around in front of computer or TV all day. Ironically, others are hyperactive and can not sit still like a normal person can.
Eyesight: declining eyesight is the first sign – you can’t see as well close up or far away. Blurred vision. Having to get reading glasses or change your contact or eye glasses prescription. Cataracts and glaucoma are advanced stages.
Congestion: starts out as frequent colds, coughs or congestion. Proceeds to having to regularly taking allergy, cold, cough, decongestion medicines, eventually becomes chronic bronchitis.
Breathing Problems: asthma, allergies, frequent shortness of breath (usually seen in fat people after they walk a short distance), reoccurring cold or cough. Reoccurring sinus and ear infections. Loud snoring. Advanced cases are sleep apnea, bronchitis, and emphysema.
Joints: more stiffness and soreness than seen in the past, bad pain or swelling in one joint that slows you down, gout, proceeding to multiple joints.
Skin: your largest organ, could start as rash, athlete’s foot, skin infections, skin tags, easier to sun burn, scales, flaky, cracked, - leading to eczema, Psoriasis, Ancanthosis Nigricans, skin cancer, lymphoma, losing feeling in your fingers and toes.
Esophagus and stomach: acid indigestion (having to take antacids regularly), acid reflux, esophagus restriction / contraction or Achalasia.
Bowels: your second largest organ, more gas than previous years, diarrhea, constipation. Evolves into irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis, diverticulosis, and colon cancer
Circulatory and blood problems: Rising or high LDL (bad) cholesterol, lowering or low HDL (good) cholesterol, rising or high triglycerides, rising or high blood pressure, hormones low. Decreasing HDL to triglycerides ratio, increasing C Reactive Protein. This eventually leads to hardening of the arteries, blocked blood vessels, heart attack, and stroke. In men this also leads to sexual problems since the penis is erected using blood flow. I am not a woman – so read some of the other lists for women’s sexual health problems (like PCOS). Early puberty in girls. Thyroid problems. Infertility problems.
Mouth: Dentists Weston A Price book figured this out in the 1930s. Yes we have know what poor nutrition does to your teeth for over 70 years! "His studies revealed that dental caries and deformed dental arches resulting in crowded, crooked teeth are the result of nutritional deficiencies, not inherited genetic defects." http://www.westonaprice.org/brochures/wapfbrochure.html Gum disease, Periodontitis, Gingivitis, are related to inflammation, heart attack, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
Habits and Other: Big thirst, big pee, big sweat (have you noticed how fat people sweat a lot), body odor, big eater, over weight, “big boned”, usually tired, lack of energy, infertility problems.
Conclusion
If you have some of these problems – I encourage you to read through the other lists that I have posted.
Note that most people with Pre Type 2 diabetes / Syndrome X / Metabolic Syndrome do not have all of these health problems. Some people might have worse bowel problems than mental problems. Others might have worse joint problems than vision problems. Etc.
Also note that some people do not realize they have these problems. Normally it is a spouse, family member, or friend that points it out to them. I suggest you have someone else (that knows you well) go through this list and judge you.
Some people don’t realize they have the problem until after they rid themselves of the problem. They think it is natural for people to take a lot of cough and cold medicine throughout the winter. They think it is natural to feel really tired after eating a meal. They think it is natural to be worn out on the weekend and just lay around most weekends. They think it is natural to take antacids after meals. They think it is natural to wake up most nights around 2, 3, or 4 AM. Etc.
If you have the problems listed above and have been prescribed drugs – or been ignoring the problems – I urge you to make TODAY the day that you finally turn this around – before it is too late.
Do you see yourself in these lists? You need to do something now.

I am crying like a baby right now! With the exception of circulatory/blood problems I have every single one of those symptoms and have for some time.
I thought it was due to depression, but I see that depression can be a sign/symptom of this! I thought I had just become a nasty bitch (especially in the mornings) - I can't believe all the health problems I'm having are related! I was googling type 2 diabetes because I am having a blood test for it tomorrow. I'll be interested to see if that's what it is - I hope so, or it might mean that I am just a nasty bitch with a bad memory who never has any energy, always is forgetting stuff and has a twitchy skin...

You - and the millions of others like you - are exactly why I posted this!
If you go to a doctor - they will treat you for depression, treat you for no energy (if they have a drug or surgery - otherwise your no energy does not exist), and treat you for your bad skin.
And as I document in this blog - some of the treatments are horrible.
But they won't look at ALL your problems together and realize you have PRE type 2 diabetes.
BTW - if you are having a type 2 diabetes test - it will not turn out positive unless you have it really, really, bad.
I provide this list as "PRE" type 2 diabetes so that people can figure it out - and make changes - BEFORE they reach the "full blown" type 2 diabetes.
What you should do is ask for a glucose tolerance test - but how many doctors have ever heard of this test - and if they have - how many know what to do with the results?
If you want to learn more - you can also google the terms "syndrome x" and "metabolic syndrome".
You can also find a low carb doctor. One low carb doctor recommends "bariatric physicians" - NOT bariatric surgeons - but physicians.
You can locate a bariatric physician here

It is amazing how many health problems a low carb / glycemic diet , supplements (correcting past nutritional deficiencies), and a little exercise can fix.
But once your health reaches "emergency room " status - it often is too late to recover using natural methods.
That is why I do this every day. I am trying to reach as many people as I can BEFORE it is too late.
Congratulations in realizing - its not you - but the poor health advice you have been receiving.
If you do the hard work of sticking with the diet, supplements, and a little exercise - your life will be transformed.
Best of luck to you and let me know if you have any questions.

Well, the results came back negative (albeit borderline), so you were spot on there!
I demanded a referral to an Endocrinologist to be tested for pre-diabetes and insulin resistance.
Thank you for putting this info up, I probably would have just assumed it was the depression and asked to go back on the meds if I hadn't read this.
